Telegram monitoring bots and tools: what to compare

· Pingfinch

When you choose a Telegram monitoring tool, compare four things: whose account reads your groups, how messages are selected, what a notification contains and which unit the plan counts. Almost every tool in this comparison promises speed (“instant”, “in seconds”, “real time”), so speed won’t help you choose.

Which tools are compared here?

CatchMate, LeadGenRunner, Teleliner, TGStat and Pingfinch. Each one watches groups you pick and tells you about messages that match your conditions. Channel analytics and brand monitoring do a different job and are left out.

Pingfinch publishes this comparison. Facts about the other tools come from their official pages on 25 September 2026; we didn’t buy plans or measure speed or accuracy. Open each page again before you pay, because features and prices change.

Whose account reads your groups?

  1. 1

    The tool’s catalogue

TGStat tracks the channels and groups in its own index. If your group isn’t there, TGStat won’t see it until the group is added to the catalogue.

  2. 2

    The tool’s own account

CatchMate and Pingfinch join the public groups you add by @username or t.me link. You don’t hand over your account, and private invite-only groups stay out of reach.

  3. 3

    Your account

LeadGenRunner logs in to your Telegram account by QR code or phone number; Teleliner uses your own accounts, each behind its own proxy. They read the groups you’ve joined, and Teleliner lists private groups added by invite link. In exchange, the tool holds a session of your account.

Telegram’s own search doesn’t replace monitoring. The Posts tab covers public channels only, Telegram launched it for Premium users, and it doesn’t alert you to new messages.

Pingfinch gets into a group that approves new members once an admin accepts its request, and the bot shows whether each source is available.

How does a tool decide a message fits?

By words. CatchMate matches substrings, adds plus and minus words from its Pro plan, and doesn’t expand typos or synonyms. TGStat handles Russian and English word forms and supports operators. The rule is predictable, but “Can someone fix the checkout on our online store this week?” won’t match the word “developer”.

By words, then AI. LeadGenRunner picks messages by keywords and stop words, and its AI rates the matches hot, warm or cold. A message without your words never reaches the AI.

By a plain-language description. In Teleliner and Pingfinch you describe the task, and AI checks new messages against it. Teleliner adds a buyer, seller or discussion label with the model’s own confidence score. This catches requests phrased in other words, and it makes mistakes both ways. Before the search starts, Pingfinch shows a summary of what it will look for and skip; when in doubt, it rejects the message.

What arrives in a notification?

CatchMate sends a card with the group, word, author, text and link to its bot, a web dashboard and a Chrome extension. TGStat delivers to its bot, a work group or a URL. Teleliner collects leads in a web feed. LeadGenRunner adds an AI-drafted reply that you send yourself.

In your chat with its bot, Pingfinch posts the subscription name, the reason for the match, the source and a link to the original. It doesn’t copy the text: you read the message and its replies in the group. The “✍️ Reply draft” button under the notification suggests a draft reply to that request; you edit it and send it yourself.

Ask every vendor whether it looks at a group’s history. Pingfinch checks new messages only.

What does a plan charge you for?

Check the terms too. On 25 September 2026, CatchMate offered a 7-day trial and took Telegram Stars or USDT, LeadGenRunner offered 5 days on its Business plan and listed prices without VAT, TGStat priced in roubles, and Teleliner had a free plan.

Pingfinch plans count notifications per plan period and limit the number of sources. The same message posted in several groups arrives once and counts as one notification.

What doesn’t Pingfinch do?

It doesn’t read private invite-only groups, pick groups from a catalogue or search old messages. It doesn’t select messages by keywords: words can only be excluded with “🔇 Don't send” rules. There is no web dashboard or API, and found requests can’t be exported to a spreadsheet or CRM; the /export command gives you your own data as one JSON file. It never writes to anyone for you. The AI can miss a request that fits or send one that doesn’t, so open the original before you reply.

How do you test your shortlist in a week?

  1. 1

    Narrow the list

Keep two or three tools whose access model fits your groups.

  2. 2

    Give them the same conditions

The same few groups, task and week. For keyword tools, take the words from that task description.

  3. 3

    Take notes every day

Useful notifications, useless ones, and requests you spotted that the tool missed.

  4. 4

    Sum up

A group a tool couldn’t access is a coverage gap. If requests in your groups are rare, test for longer.

In Pingfinch, the “📢 Sources” screen of a subscription shows how many matching requests each group brought over the last 7 days.

Where should you start?

Check access first, then selection and notifications, and the price last. You can test Pingfinch for free during the trial period: add public groups in the bot and describe the task. The terms after the trial are on the Pricing page.

FAQ

Do I have to connect my own Telegram account to a monitoring tool?

It depends on the tool. LeadGenRunner and Teleliner work through your account, CatchMate and Pingfinch read public groups with their own accounts, and TGStat searches its catalogue. Before you connect a personal account, read what the tool does with it and whether sending messages can be switched off.

Can I monitor a private group I joined by invite link?

Only with a tool that reads groups through your account; Teleliner says so directly. CatchMate and Pingfinch accept public groups with an @username or t.me link only.

Which Telegram monitoring tool is best?

The one that sees your groups and misses fewer requests in your own groups. If your clients post in private groups, only tools using your account can read them. If they ask for the same work in many different words, a keyword tool will miss some of it. A test week gives a firmer answer.
